HLL recognised there was a need for improved technology in the log cartage sector. As a result, we have developed our own dispatch software focused on truck utilisation, efficiency and ‘real time’ reporting of our customers logs movements, from stock on hand through to delivery. Manual data entry is largely eliminated meaning human error is reduced and data is more accurate. This technology is currently being run in all log trucks which are contracted to HLL.

Online Customer Portal
HLL’s online customer portal gives forest managers full visibility of log movements in their forest. Real time stocks, daily running sheets, scheduled pick up times and carriers, electronic docket tracking is currently in development and online bush docket PODs are all available on our online customer portal. Our software development is ongoing, we are continuously launching new features and add-ons to increase truck efficiencies and provide the best data to our customers. We aim to collaborate directly with our customers during this development to ensure that our software solutions are tailored to meet all their requirements.
Daily Truck Plan
Truck plans for all crews are available on the customer portal under the ‘Today Plan’ and ‘Tomorrow Plan’ tabs. These show the full truck plan for the day by truck number, destination, and total volume for the day. The ‘Tomorrow Plan’ is visible once trucks have been allocated (4pm daily), giving visibility of truck movements for the following day.
Real-time Docket Tracking
The key part to the customer portal is the ability for real time docket tracking from the forest to the end user. Through this we can see what docket a truck is loaded with, grades and destination. Once the truck has weighed the weighbridge receipt is also available online, our system reads the relevant information, and this is available in real time.
